The WATTSTOR™ Mission is to provide high quality and sustainable renewable energy storage and management systems to domestic, commercial and industrial properties at an affordable cost.
Wattstor was founded in 2013 as pioneers in the energy storage market. At first the focusing was primarily on local Cornish sales, attracting a small but significant amount of households who were searching for a solution to the problem of energy generated by renewables flowing out to the grid when there was nobody at home to use it, and a demand for resilience against power cuts.
At the same time, the growth and development of the Wattstor IMP gained momentum, with the demand for energy management and export limitation going hand-in-hand with energy storage.
Wattstor was given a massive boost in 2013 as it was voted Winner of Best New Product at the 2013 Cornwall Sustainability Awards.
Those early days of doing the leg work and working out how to design and install energy storage systems provided the company with a solid ground to look further afield, and in 2015 Wattstor launched its installer network initiative, aiming to provide energy energy storage systems for UK installers.
Since then Wattstor has attracted the interest of over 100 installers across the UK (and further afield), and led to the wide success of Energy Storage training initiative in January 2016.
Wattstor has also taken part in a number of joint ventures, most notably its work with Energy Storage Network and BRE, the latter by contributing to a seminal paper discussing how the energy storage should be regulated.
Wattstor are based in Tremough Innovation Centre, Penryn, Cornwall.
